Can I see when someone opens a PDF I emailed?
Not with an attachment, because an attached PDF sends nothing back. Upload the PDF to Reqlick and put the tracked link in your email instead. Your dashboard then logs opens with a timestamp, location, and device. It works for contracts, reports, resumes, and pitch decks sent by email, chat, or CRM.
Should I send my PDF resume as a tracked link?
A tracked Reqlick link tells you when a recruiter opened your resume, and a return visit is a good moment to follow up. Some application portals only accept file uploads, so use the link in direct emails and LinkedIn messages. Keep the PDF itself ready for portals that require an attachment.
Why does my PDF show more opens than people I sent it to?
Reqlick counts each tracked open, including return visits and opens by anyone the recipient forwarded the link to. Check unique visitors for a closer count of people, and look for new cities or devices to spot forwarding. Email security scanners that check links before delivery can also add opens to a PDF link.
Can I password protect a PDF and still track opens?
Yes, on Reqlick Pro and Business. Add a password to contracts, reports, or other confidential PDFs, and opens are still logged with time, location, and device. You can also set an expiry date. Pro costs $39 a month with 500 file uploads and 50 GB of storage. Starter, at $15, tracks opens but has no passwords.
